On Thursday, December 16, 2010, 19:00 pm, Kunstverein Familie Montez will hold an auction to raise funds for reconstruction works that will become necessary following conditions imposed by the authorities of the City of Frankfurt.Following our spontaneous call to start an art auction, 80 artists have already agreed to provide their works for the good cause.

Gerade in seiner konkretesten betonierten Form ist der urbane Lebensraum Objekt eines abstrakten Finanzkreislaufes, der in seiner Dynamik jeden Kontakt zur Lebenswirklichkeit verloren hat. Der "reale Besitz" (von Englisch: real estate) ist dort nur noch lästiges Anhängsel, auf den sich zwar alles bezieht, der aber innerhalb des Prozesses der Kapitalzirkulation nur noch als Vorwand vorkommt.

WILLIAM BECKFORD – THE REMAINS OF FONTHILL ABBEY

We were fortunate to be permitted to photograph the remaining buildings of William Beckford. In England we entered the last standing tower of Fonthill Abbey. The first floor had been locked for decades and was filled with antiques and curiosities. The second floor contained a cluttered pile of game trophies and worm-eaten furniture and was so brittle, that we didn´t dare to step inside.
